Die MULTI-BOX Aluminium-Ex i Klemmengehäuse entsprechen allen Anforderungen für Installationsbereiche, in denen explosive Konzentrationen von Gasen, Dämpfen und Stäuben auftreten können (Zonen 1 und 2, sowie 21 und 22).

MBA-Ex i Gehäuse können in den Temperaturklassen T4 bis T6 eingesetzt werden.

Der Explosionsschutz der so genannten eigensicheren Gehäuse "i" basiert auf den geringen Spannungen und Stromstärken, die in den Gehäusen verdrahtet werden (z.B. Daten- oder Telefonleitungen).
Durch die Begrenzung der Zündenergie kann so auch im ungünstigsten Fall kein Funke entstehen. Eine Temperaturerhöhung oder Erwärmung unserer Exi-Klemmengehäuse kann auch bei maximaler Bestückung mit Reihenklemmen vernachlässigt werden.

Durch den Außenerdeanschluss werden die Gehäuse in den Potenzialausgleich einbezogen. Statische Aufladung und daraus resultierende Funken werden so vollständig vermieden.

Um bei der Installation von Exi-Gehäusen deutlich sichtbar zumachen, dass es sich um eigensichere Stromkreise handelt, sind blaue oder blau gekennzeichnete Kabelverschrauben und blaue Reihenklemmen zu wählen.
